Is it a book or sheet music?
- It has analysis content: Detailed Hemiolas, curiosities such as Bach's name being harmonized, nods to composers like Pachelbel, harmonic sequences... although the bulk is sheet music, to play with two cellos, or play the Suites at full volume on home and harmoniously accompany my favorite cellists.
Who would want this book?
- Any instrumentalist who has studied Bach's Suites, especially teachers and stage musicians, musicians who want to practice accompaniment, practice improvisation from the basso continuo, clearly understand harmonic rhythm and Bach´s counterpoint from another perspective
JEREMÍAS SANZ ABLANEDO
Born in 1979, he completed his Cello studies with an Extraordinary Final Degree Award. He studied in 2003 at the Royal Academy of Music in London where he obtained the highest qualification "Distinction" in postgraduate performance. That same year he obtained a place with the European Young Orchestra (EUYO). Immediately afterwards he studied at the Royal Northem College of Music in Manchester for a postgraduate degree and a Master's degree in performance. In that year he won the First Prize in the II International Young Performers of Les Corts Competition held in Barcelona in 2006.
During this stage in Manchester his specialization in chamber music was practically consolidated. During this period in England he won the John Barbirolli Prize, Laurance Turner Memorial Prize, Nossek Prize and Diploma "Professional Performance” as a member of the “Eves Quartet” in Manchester. He returned to Spain and won First Prize in the XI International Musical Performance Competition l'Arjau.” Upon his return to Spain he was invited by the Royal Family to perform Bach with a fantastic Stradivarius in the Palace.
Two years later he obtained a position by competitive examination as a cello teacher. He simultaneously combines teaching at the Jaén Superior and Professional Conservatory with concert activity with the Granada Quartet of which he is the founder, with which he receives the 2nd Prize in the I International Chamber Music Competition "Antón García Abril", Special Prize Musical Foundation of Málaga for the Best Interpretation of the Work of a Spanish Composer, 2nd Prize of the 17th Edition of the Josep Mirabent I Magrans International Competition.
He has been an assistant professor of the Enesco Quartet of Paris in improvement, technique and interpretation courses organized by Maestro José Peris la Casa.
He is the author of the books BASSO CONTINUO FOR BACH'S CELLO SUITES and another specific one arranged for viola. He plays with a Mirecourt cello from the late 19th century.
